About Glenfarclas Distillery
Glenfarclas distillery, nestled in Ballindalloch, is a revered Speyside whisky producer steeped in rich history and family tradition. Owned and operated by the Grant family, the distillery boasts the largest stills on Speyside, six in total, heated directly by gas burners.
With a production capacity of approximately 4 million litres per year, Glenfarclas upholds a commitment to quality and tradition. Dunnage warehouses on-site cradle around 68,000 casks, maturing whisky from every year since 1953.
Glenfarclas’ legacy traces back to the late 18th century, with evidence of operations predating 1791. Officially licensed in 1836 under Robert Hay, it found enduring ownership in the Grant family when John Grant acquired it in 1865.
The distillery’s accolades include being named Distiller of the Year by Whisky Magazine multiple times. Glenfarclas’ legacy extends beyond whisky, with sponsorships in horseracing and recognition for its premium expressions, including the 40-year-old 46% vol. expression lauded as “Scotch Whisky Single Malt of the Year” in 2011. However, the distillery faced challenges in 2022 when thieves targeted its visitor center, absconding with over £100,000 worth of whisky.

Glenfarclas is a renowned distillery located in Scotland with a rich heritage in producing fine whiskies. The rarity and quality of their products makes them desirable to collectors and enthusiasts, only increasing their value over time.
Whisky typically gains value as it ages and matures in the cask. The longer it remains in the cask, the more it has the potential to develop complexity and depth of flavors. We offer cask purchase programs that allow you to select the type of cask and aging duration, providing you with control over the maturation process.
Buying a cask allows you to own a unique piece of Bladnoch’s Kirkcowan Spirit production and a part of Bladnoch’s history. As the availability of aged and limited-edition whiskies decreases over time, the scarcity of these bottles can drive up their value.
Whisky has experienced growing popularity worldwide, particularly with the rise of collectors and investors seeking alternative assets. If the demand for premium Scotch whisky remains strong or continues to increase, it could positively impact the investment potential of your Kirkcowan Spirit (Bladnoch) cask. Recently we have seen the price of a standard bottle of Bladnoch rise from £40 to £80.
