For 16 years, Ian served as the driving force behind distillery operations, compliance, and production at William Grant & Sons, Scotland’s largest independent distiller. With a portfolio that includes iconic single malt brands like Glenfiddich, Ian played a pivotal role in maintaining these esteemed whiskies’ exceptional quality and reputation.

Before his tenure at William Grant & Sons, Ian held a distinguished position as the Production Director at Scottish and Newcastle Breweries, now part of the renowned Heineken Group. During his 26-year tenure, Ian oversaw the production of a diverse range of beloved brands, including the cherished Jura whisky from the Islands and global beer brands like Heineken, and Fosters, now owners of India’s Kingfisher. In addition to his notable employment history, Ian has made significant contributions on a larger scale. He served as Joint Chairman of the Scottish Whisky Association (SWA), the industry watchdog, where he worked diligently to advocate for the interests of the Scottish Whisky industry.
