Speyside Capital is proud to announce our continued support of the Scottish Whisky Awards as an official category sponsor for 2025. Now in its 7th year, the awards remain a cornerstone of recognition within the Scotch whisky industry, and this year’s edition promises to be the most significant yet.
This year, we sponsor the Single Malt Scotch – Aged 12 Years and Under category – a segment that exemplifies youth matured with intent. Last year’s finalists in this category included industry stalwarts such as Ardbeg Ten Years Old, Glenmorangie The Accord and Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old, with Loch Lomond 12 Year Old taking home Gold for its aptly named “Perfectly Balanced” expression. The 2025 shortlist is yet to be announced, but anticipation is already building for what will no doubt be an exceptional class once again.
The 2025 programme welcomes the inaugural ‘In Whisky Conference’ – a new, dedicated daytime event designed to unite distillers and leaders across the category for a full day of insight and discovery. It’s a welcome addition to an already prestigious event and a prime example of the awards’ commitment to pushing the industry forward.
At the heart of the competition remains the respected blind tasting process, where entries are judged solely on quality and character across four core categories: Single Malt, Blended Malt, Blends, and Single Cask & Speciality (including Single Grain). Labels, brands and distillery details remain hidden throughout judging, preserving the integrity and impartiality that has earned the awards their reputation.
The core of Speyside Capital is Scotch Whisky, and our support of the Scottish Whisky Awards recognises our belief in continuing to champion those who uphold standards of excellence and ensure that Scotch whisky continues to be recognised on the world stage for its authenticity, character and timeless value.
This marks our second year supporting the awards, and we are particularly proud to do so in a category that so many whisky lovers encounter early in their journey.
